A Rainbow Of Sorts…

Check out this cool picture sent to us from Shannon Bourque in Franklin, taken midday Friday.  This rainbow in the cirrus cloud above is called…anyone?…a circumhorizontal arc.  Sounds lilke a medical procedure, I know!  This is a rare occurrence that only happens when the sun is high in the sky and the ice crystals that make up the cirrus cloud are aligned properly.  Very neat.
