Deep Moisture On The Way…

This tropical wave in the Western Caribbean really has my attention. Movement is to the northwest and that general track will continue this week. Some of the medium-range computer models show quite a healthy area of low pressure in the Central to Northern Gulf by about Thursday and that scenario is a possibility. While the chances of a hurricane forming look quite slim, there is a chance of seeing a tropical depression or even a tropical storm form. The moisture will be the biggest change for us, with soaking rains looking to set up beginning Friday. Over the weekend, large high pressure north of us will be battling the moisture in the Gulf, keeping our southern parishes wet and our northern parishes drier. With Gulf water temps in the upper 80s, we’ll need to monitor areas to our south closely this week.
