A fast-moving disturbance from Wednesday afternoon through the pre-dawn hours Thursday promises some impressive rainfall for Acadiana. This is a look at one of our computer models, showing rainfall totals through midday Thursday. Many areas along and just north of I-10 may see in excess of 2″, most of that falling during the overnight period. At least the ground is drier now than it was in mid-January, so we should be able to handle this moisture without any threat of significant flooding. Dry weather follows through Sunday, but rain looks to be in the cards with an incoming cold front early next week.
