A Neat Look At Winter Snow & Ice Cover…

In the middle of winter, this is a really cool shot showing how much of the Northern Hemisphere is covered in snow and ice.  The white, of course, is snow cover, while the purple shows various concentrations of sea ice.  Most of Canada and Russia are snow-covered, along with parts of the US, Europe, and Asia.  The minimum in snow and ice cover typically occurs in late September.
