We will see typical August weather for the rest of the week with temperatures close to average, but the heat index will be over 100 each afternoon. Rain chances will be very low for the next few days, but the rain chances will increase for the weekend. This is the time of year in which many start looking forward to the cool, dry days of fall. There are signs of fall well north of us, but we won’t see that cooler air across Acadiana until late September. Also, we are about to head into the peak of hurricane season, and we’re not expecting any development this week. There are some things we are watching, but there is nothing to be worried about at this time.
