Tropical Depression Seven formed earlier today out over the Atlantic Ocean. More than likely, this will become Tropical Storm Gordan tomorrow. As of now, it looks as though slow strengthening will occur over the next week, but it may take it a few days to a week to develop into a hurricane. It looks as though the path will be similar to the path Ernest took, at least for the next five days. There is a chance this one could turn north, but more than likely, it will move over the Yucatan like Ernesto did. If it has an impact on Acadiana, it won’t happen for at least 10 days or longer, so we have a good amount of time to watch it as it moves to the west.
