We’re are fairly certain that Ernesto will not move toward Acadiana. Tropical Storm Ernesto may become a hurricane over the next day of so, but it will stay well south of Acadiana. Last week some of the models brought Ernesto much further north, but all models suggest landfall over Mexico. Chances of Ernesto moving north toward Acadiana are below 10%. Florence died earlier this morning and restrengthening is not likely.Besides Tropical Storm Ernesto, we are watching a tropical wave out near the Cape Verde Islands. We are still about a month away from the peak of hurricane season, so I’m sure we will be tracking more systems over the coming months.
