Just as Acadiana fully emerged from drought conditions in June, we’re on the verge of a new period of drought. While over eight inches of rain fell during the first 19 days of June, just a trace has fallen since. Most days were in the 80s for the first three weeks of June, but the average high temperature since has been 94°. The overall pattern looks a bit hotter than normal with rainfall a bit lower than normal for at least the next couple weeks.
