Cooler Soon?

There’s no doubt it has been a hot and dry week across Acadiana. At the Lafayette Regional Airport, the temperature rose to 99 degrees both Monday and Tuesday, and some parts of Acadiana saw triple digit heat. It does look as though some cooler air will make its way into Acadiana today and this weekend. As high pressure aloft retreats north away from Acadiana, it will be a few degrees cooler today, then over the weekend, temperatures should be back down into the low to mid 90s, but it will be more humid this weekend. June started off wet, but the last week has been a different story as the dry weather has taken over Acadiana. Some areas already need the rain again, and rain chances look very slim for the next week. We will see a slight chance of rain return Sunday, and we will see a slight chance of rain early next week. I have a feeling the first week of July will be mostly dry. Stay cool and stay hydrated. I’m dreaming of cool, sunny fall days.
