With many parts of Acadiana reaching or exceeding the century-mark Tuesday, I thought it would be neat to look back at temperature extremes for Lafayette. The record high for Tuesday is 104°, so we didn’t quite reach that. The all-time high temperature for the city is 107°, recorded on July 13, 1901. What’s interesting is that just two years and five months before, a record low of 6° was set. Considering records for Lafayette date to 1893, it amazing that the two temperature extremes occurred just a couple years apart.
