Tropical System In The Gulf?

We are still watching an area of disturbed weather in the southern Gulf of Mexico. This is not a tropical system yet, but more than likely it will become a tropical depression, and possibly tropical storm over the weekend. If it becomes a named storm, Debby is the next name on the list. Most of the computer models take this sytem to the north, then across Florida. With high pressure aloft buiding in over Acadiana, the chances of it moving this way will be very slim. That high pressure will bring us some hot weather this weekend and into early next week. Highs will be in the upper 90s. I think we had rather have the hot, dry weather instead of a tropical system. We will watch that system over the weekend, but I think we will be fine across Acadiana.
