We saw some showers and storms yesterday and last night. With some of the storms, there were some healthy rainfall totals. Most of the rain was east of Lafayette, Opelousas and Abbeville, and you can see that above with the NEXRAD estimates, which shows rainfall totals over the last 24 hours. Some of the highest totals were around three inches. This is that time of year in which these afternoon storms can dump a lot of water in a short period of time. I need some water on my yard, but I received less than a tenth of an inch as an edge of a storm storm passed over my house. We will see very slim rain chances for the rest of the week and into the weekend, so many may have to start watering the yard if they haven’t already.
